bbly is a spatial canvas for drafting structured documents — letters, proposals, contracts, memos, anything where how you organise ideas matters as much as the ideas themselves.
Most document tools are built around a scroll. You start at the top, type downward, and the structure emerges — or doesn't — from the sequence you happened to write it in.
That works for short documents. For anything complex — a contract with interdependent clauses, a proposal where the pricing section informs the scope, a memo that needs restructuring three times before it makes sense — the linear model creates constant friction. You spend more time cutting and pasting than writing.
The structure of what you're trying to say is never linear in your head. The document should work the same way.
bbly gives you a canvas. Draw a bubble for each section, place it where it belongs, write in it, move it next to the section it relates to. When the structure is right, export a clean PDF.
The canvas is your workspace. The export is for everyone else.
Freelancers who draft the same agreement for every new client. Consultants who build proposals from scratch each time. Lawyers who structure contracts clause by clause. In-house teams writing briefing documents that get reorganised three times before sign-off.
You don't need to be a lawyer. You just need to write things that need to be structured, not just long.
bbly is built by two brothers — one drafts contracts for a living, the other builds software. We made the thing we needed and couldn't find. We're focused on keeping it fast, focused, and genuinely useful for the kind of writing that word processors make harder than it should be.
